3D character illustrations, modeling and texturing

I decided to update my personal character icon to 3D. This is my first try with 3D character modeling and I enjoyed it a lot! The first one I finished felt a little too plain textured so I decided to give it a more handmade feel using clay textures with fingerprints and dust and dirt , giving it that stop-motion look I admire and am a fan of.

This is the original 2D illustration I used as a reference when making the 3D character

There was a lot of trial and error in figuring out what worked and what didn’t with the lighting and texturing setups. i’ve attached below some wip and process shots
